TESTIMONIALS

I am not a fan of the gym and previously used to run 3 times a week by myself to get fit. However, after a year of this, it was getting monotonous and I felt that I ought to try other different types of cardio-vascular exercise. My sister mentioned Brendan and now I join her in a small group, exercising in Maidstone's local recreation grounds, once a week. I am a relative new-comer to Brendan's PT sessions, having only done 5 sessions so far, but I can already feel a difference in my overall fitness, co-ordination and flexibility. It is also so much better exercising outside in the fresh air rather than in a gym.

I thought going to the gym was the right thing, but nothing was happening except growing boredom. Then I was introduced to Brendan through a charity walk and my fitness attitude was completely changed.

Sweaty atmosphere has been exchanged for fresh air.

Bright lights have been replaced with sunsets.

Monotone music substituted with bird song.

Then comes the crucial part of the three-part session…WORKOUT.

Where else would you get personal, experienced, close exercise monitoring? Believe me, you will not want to go back into a gym. Brendan will push you to your (safe) limit, then expect just a bit more and its that ‘bit more’ that makes you realise, if in the gym, you’d have gone home ages ago.

Brendan makes the whole experience fun; motivating and you quickly feel the benefit, which lasts days after a session.

Worth every penny!

Many many thanks Brendan!

Before joining Brendan I was a member of my local gym, at this time I weighed 16 stone and was attending the gym 3 days a week.
I was a member of the gym for over a year and didn't manage to lose any weight or stay healthy.

However when hearing about Brendan I phoned for an induction to his training to see if this would benefit me and better my fitness.

3 months later I am now 13 stone eating healthy on a strict plan with an exercise routine that suits me.

The support and training I have received from Brendan has helped me to achieve my goal and I thank him for giving me more confidence in myself.

I would recommend Brendan to anyone who needs more of a challenge and that extra bit of support with improving their health and reaching their fitness goals.

Thirty Two years ago I joined a gym and I have been a member of one gym or another ever since - At various stages I have trained with different personal trainers - with varying levels of success.

When Brendan's camouflaged flyer came through the door it caught my eye. I had given up the Gym owing to frustration with the equipment - which needed replacing and was looking to improve my fitness and lose some weight - and failing miserably. So for probably the first time in my life I found myself responding to direct marketing.

When Brendan came over for my initial consultation I liked his enthusiasms for health and fitness and his belief that he could help. I was encouraged that he previously had been overweight himself so knew the battle I was facing. His enthusiasm, his impish grin, and his confidence in his ability to help me were very obvious. His suggestion to undertake a seven day food diary analysis which was very helpful in identifying changes that really helped was also instrumental in persuading me to part with my money.

The type of training he did was different and that interested me. The idea that he would take my goals and help me achieve them with realistic targets really appealed - I was a bit unsure when he mentioned that i should be prepared to get covered in mud but after some persuasion decided to give it a go and loved it.

Now in my third month of training , with no two sessions the same, my fitness, flexibility, general outlook and my ability to concentrate have all really improved. Apart from the park based training, one of my goals was to get back into cycling and to cycle to the top of the North Downs without stopping - Brendan has helped me achieve this. I can now do it - and keep going. My next short term target is to complete the London to Brighton.

Despite a long standing knee problem Brendan has always been able to adapt our excercise regime to ensure that we can continue to train safely and efficiently which has helped to mobilize and rehabilitate these sore joints.

Three months on I am up early every morning feeling energised and looking forward to the training sessions. I don't have the urge to snack as much and have a better understanding of the food types I should be eating.

Personal training is not cheap but with Brendan it is good value for money.

In the summer of 2009, I signed up for a 10 week personal training course with Brendan Mills. While not overweight, I had always been incredibly self-conscious about my body and had tried and failed at gyms to improve my fitness.

Brendan has given me an education on how to look after my body through exercise and healthy eating. Instead of setting me on some crazy, fad diet, Brendan insisted that one must be realistic, and provide my with fantastic nutritional guidance through.

The PT sessions were fantastic! As somebody who hid from PE classes at school, I have always been wary of outdoor sport. The sessions with Brendan were genuinely fun and varied. I personally found the boxing- based exercises my favourite part. I work 9-5 hours in an office, and I found that exercising outdoors was incredibly liberating, and felt far less stressed at the end of each session. Running has always been my biggest weakness however brendan's motivating 'go-get-'em' attitude spurred me on.

In conclusion, by the end of the 10 weeks, I felt fitter, leaner and happier in my own body. I couldn't recommend Brendan highly enough, and truely appreciate the role of physical exercise in my daily life.

Thank you Brendan!

Lynn and I have been training with Brendan for almost three months and the difference to our fitness levels is quite impressive.

Brendan introduces different techniques each week to keep the sessions interesting and informative – you find out which muscle group you are working on even if you cant pronounce it !!

Work outs are intense and certainly stretch you but importantly Brendan is always aware of your physical well being and will vary the tempo accordingly. We have both regularly worked out in the past but is the first time that I have got my breath back whilst still exercising – an interesting experience.

Exercising outside is superb with the open air, wild life and as the evenings close in even a bit of astrology as the moon and stars come up.

Thank you Brendan for providing a varied and informative routine, which we eagerly look forward to each week.

All the best

Lynn and John

Like many people, I've been a member of a gym for about 2 years, but can't actually remember the last time I went! The thought of spending an hour in a hot sweaty room not really knowing what I was doing 3 times a week wasn't really very inspiring so when I
heard about Brendan when I received a flyer through my door and thought why not give it a try.

I'm now in my second month of training with Brendan and have really noticed the difference in my overall fitness. I suffer from asthma, but with Brendan's support and training I have also noticed a real improvement in my recovery rate.

Exercising in the open air makes the sessions fun and I actually look forward to exercising.

Thanks Brendan.

QuoteBrendan is a bastard and knackers you totally at ridiculous times of the morning showing no mercy, only kidding.

I never wanted to attend a gym being to self conscious that it is filled with people with toned body's and not wanting to be the only chubby one huffing and puffing, so after seeing an article in the local press explaining what Brendan did I decided to give it a go, and I am very glad I did. Not only is he very conscious of your ability's and any injuries you have, he is able to tailor a routine to match your capabilities. I have a knee injury and should it start playing up, he immediately starts to put emphasis on other parts of my body.

I have had a personal trainer before, but I was never as drenched with sweat as much as I am with Brendan, and it always start my day off positively making me feel like I have achieved something. I have lost 5kg's in about a month and am now about to engage in the diet program he runs free of charge to clients who use him for more than 3 months, I hate diets but was surprised to realise I had to eat twice as much as I normally do, just change the items I was eating ! and I am not subject to ryvita and cottage cheese either, if I want a treat I may have one, but combine it with various food groups to ensure I have energy all day.

For anyone nervous about what the "Military" style approach is, I would say give him a call, you are not awoken at 5am with a bucket of cold water, its just about pushing yourself more than you normally would little by little.

I have lost my man boobs and my waist is slowly shrinking, so its a big thumbs up from me ! I hope to reduce my weight further by another 15kg's and have every confidence this will happen over the next few months.Quote

Quote"Over the last 10 years or so I have been to a quite a few gyms and fitness centres in the area, with very little success.  I also had the opportunity to have a personal trainer two years ago, which was very rewarding but he emigrated.  I had always told myself that I would keep up with the training but of course I didn't!  I knew that I had to keep up with an exercise schedule due to high blood pressure but just lacked the motivation, then I saw an article about Brendan in Kent on Line and decided to get in touch.  I am very pleased with how my training is going.  I have been training with Brendan for three months and am feeling the benefits - maybe the wrong time of year to start outdoor training - just as the clocks changed but when the spring comes I will really appreciate it!

Spending all day in the office, its good to get some fresh air and I am now fully prepared with all the right wet weather gear I don't even mind it when its raining and I'm doing press ups in a dark field!

Thanks Brendan "Quote

Quote"As I finished University I knew my dream career was to be an Officer in the British Army. Unfortunately after 4 years of drinking away a student loan, I wasn’t in the best shape. I had always played sport and spent time at the gym, but a poor diet and regular drinking were letting me down. My gym sessions were also unstructured. A lack of knowledge and desire were seriously holding me back. So I looked into a personal trainer. This is when I discovered Military Mills. With a career in the army as my goal his web page immediately got my attention and after reading the testimonials I got in touch… it was the best decision I have ever made!

Brendan is the nicest, most enthusiastic guy you’ll ever hate. He will have you up at the crack of dawn whatever the weather and push you to your limits. His expansive knowledge of fitness techniques and exercise physiology makes every session slightly different and allows for a tailored workout every time. I would almost go as far to say he makes 6am runs up the North Downs fun. His confidence in you never falters, and while you’re too exhausted to string a sentence together, he constantly tells story’s making time fly. If your serious about making a lifestyle change, don’t waste money on a gym, get in touch with Brendan and find the friend you’ve always needed to motivate you into making that change. I have been with Brendan about a month and already feel so much fitter and am excited about the level of fitness I know I will reach with Brendan’s help.

Kind Regards "Quote
